Blowzabella provided the perfect antidote to the awful weather as they immediately lifted this first night audience out of their winter blues with their dense, rolling, medieval European sound. Spearheading this sublime sonic assault, the hurdy-gurdy of Frenchman Gregory Jolivet laid down a mesmeric soundscape on the opening Le Petit Chien, with folk luminary Andy Cutting providing warm fluid melodeon from the flanks. Meanwhile, from across the stage the saxophones of Jo Freya, Paul James and Jon Swayne volleyed in blasts of brass to create a very heady brew...
