7 NOV: FAUN will be Bad Faeries in the USA at FAERIECON / BALTIMORE - Sat. Nov 7th 2015!




– FAUN posts [on facebook]: We are very happy to be a part again of this amazing convention of bands, artists, writers and faerie folk. 
Including concerts of the bands Woodland & Martine Kraft. Also with a solo concert of Einar Selvik from Wardruna, with panels and workshops about Faerie myths, norse culture, magic, art and many other topics by Melissa Marr, Renae Taylor, Raven & Stephanie Grimassi, Robert Gould and many more. With a huge mythic market with many booths.
FAUN will perform at 9:30pm at Saturday 7th November as the headliner of the Bad Faeries Masquerade Ball.
Faeriecon will take place in the Wyndham Hunt Valley Inn in Baltimore / East Coast USA.

FAUN to re-release "Luna" with a special Bonus-CD – LIVE and ACOUSTIC Session in Berlin last December




In the beginning, we only had a very spontaneous idea that now has grown to a real jewel. Thanks to hard work and the help of a more than ambitious crew we proudly announce: On February, 27 we re-release our album "Luna" with a very special Bonus-CD! On this CD you will find seven songs from the LIVE and ACOUSTIC Session in Berlin last December. Those are songs from our latest album "Luna" in a very intimate acoustic version as well as gems from the earliest days of FAUN. The Norwegian tune "Halling" will be released for the first time. Additionally, the CD comes with a remix of "Walpurgisnacht" by Christopher Juul (Ex-Valravn, Euzen) and two "Luna" songs in the new Eurovision Song Contest versions. What more could you want? Was anfänglich nicht viel mehr war, als ein spontanes Hirngespinst, ist nun zu einem wahrhaftigen Kleinod gediehen! Nach viel Arbeit und der Hilfe eines großartigen Teams, das unsere vage Idee zur Realität werden ließ, können wir nun stolz verkünden: Am 27. Februar 2015 wird die zweite Auflage von "Luna" als Doppel-Album erscheinen. Auf der Bonus-CD finden sich die besten 7 Stücke aus unserer LIVE und ACOUSTIC Session imFunkhaus Berlin vom 15.12.2014. Darunter sind Lieder des "Luna" Albums im akustisch-reduzierten Gewand sowie einige Schätze aus frühesten Faun-Tagen, wie "Des Wassermanns Weib" und "König von Thule". Mit dem norwegischen Tanz "Halling" kommt auch ein bisher unveröffentlichtes Stück, das einige vielleicht schon von der Acoustic Tour kennen, auf die CD. Außerdem enthält die CD einen „Walpurgisnacht“ Remix vom Elektronik-Magier Christopher Juul (Ex-Valravn, Euzen) und die zwei „Luna“ Songs "Hörst du die Trommeln" und "Abschied" in der neuen ESC-Version. FAUN ON THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST / PRESHOW on 5th March 2015 / 8.15pm at ARD (German TV)
We will participate in this huge preshow for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Germany has such a beautiful heritage of poetry and traditional folk music. From our very early days on, we got a huge part of our inspiration from this cultural heritage. Therefore we believe, that we are a good choice to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest.
We will participate with our two songs "Hörst du die Trommeln" and "Abschied". Right now we build a big stage decoration ourselves from wood with huge drums. We rearranged the two songs, we are rehearsing a lot and are pretty nervous about this big TV event with more than 5 Mio viewers. We also know, that this world of glamour and big TV shows will never be our home and that we would feel much more comfortable at a medieval market instead. But we believe in what we do. We believe, that we could raise an interest in the audience for myths and fairy tales again and that theses myths of mermaids, elves and ghosts that dwell under a full moon do make our world more alive. And only a world that is perceived as alive will get the respect that is deserves to be protected and valued.
We have the feeling, that we represent in this TV show not only FAUN but also the world where we come from. A world full of myths, of bonfires and renaissance fairs, a world where an evening with friends is worth much more than a TV show and where you rather make music yourself or something else creative than to consume something.
Still we decided to make use of this possibility and to present our world in front of this big audience. Therefore we want to ask you to help us, to make this big and very surreal dream come true for us:
Please watch the show and call for us, because the winner will be found out by a telephone voting.
This might be a very big possiblility for us and for sure another crazy adventure on this marvelous journey.

And last but not least of course we do not want to forget our great LUNA TOUR. We already work half a year on the preparations. We tailored new costumes, have a new stage concept, built decorations, arranged the songs and rehearsed such a lot. Also amazing guests will come along like:

Sadly our concert in Pahlen had to be cancelled due to the Eurovision Song contest. Tickets will be refund. For those who already had a Pahlen Ticket will get a discount for the concerts in Kiel or Flensburg with a 25% discount. The show in Lübeck had to be cancelled because of the G7 summit. (We tried to call Mr. Obama and Mrs. Merkel but had no success wink emoticon ). But all other concerts are 100% safe. There are still tickets available, but we would recommend the presale because we cannot promise 100% for sure if there will still be evening sales at every show right now.

Contestants for ESC German finals announced - includes FAUN | DW.DE




On Wednesday (14.01.2015), German public braodcaster North German Radio (NDR) announced the candidates that will compete in the German preliminaries to the Eurovision Song Contest: Fahrenhaidt, Faun, Alexa Feser, Mrs. Greenbird, Andreas Kümmert, Laing and Noize Generation. An eighth contestant will be elected by viewers of a club concert in Hamburg on February 19.



Two favored candidates

Two of the groups reflect current trends in German pop. Combining electronic music and acoustic sounds, Fahrenhaidt is described by its Berlin music producers Erik Macholl and Andreas John as "modern nature pop."

Faun, in contrast, has been a part of the medieval scene for 10 years. To the sound of hurdy-gurdy, harp and bagpipes, its artists Oliver s. Tyr, Fiona Rüggeberg, Niel Mitra, Stephan Groth, Rüdiger Maul and Katja Moslehner create a modern style of medieval folk with multi-voiced singing to German texts.

Mit ihrer musikalischen Eigenständigkeit nehmen FAUN seit über 10 Jahren eine Ausnahmestellung in der internationalen Musikszene ein. *

During these months we will work on our new show the LUNA TOUR. This tour will be more than a concert. With a new and changing stage design, great guest musicians, a new light show, artists and dancers from all over the world, we want to enhance the possibilities of a concert and present an even more intense journey into the mystical world of Luna.

The show will be fully seated, but of course we are happy if the audience will dance to our faster songs.

Unsere neue CD: FAUN LUNA wird am 5. Sept.2014 erscheinen. LUNA beinhaltet archaische Tänze, als auch zeitlose Balladen und widmet sich den Mythen des Mondes und dem Archetyp der grossen Göttin. Diese CD zeigt eindeutig die mystische Seite von FAUN. Alle Texte und Lieder stammen wieder aus unserer eigenen Feder und mit tollen Gästen wie z.B. Micha Rhein (In Extremo) und Sonja Drakulich (Stellamara) sind wir uns sicher, dass hier eines der besten FAUN Alben, wenn nicht das beste Album unserer Geschichte entstanden ist.

FAUN - LUNA wird am 5.9.14 mit 12 neuen Liedern in einer Standard Edition (Jewel Case) erscheinen, als auch in einer DELUXE EDITION mit zusätzlichen 3 Bonus Tracks, im veredelten Schuber und mit 40 Seiten Booklett.

FAUN LUNA will be released as a STANDARD EDITION with 12 new songs in a Jewel Case and as a DELUXE EDITION with additional 3 Bonus Tracks, in a noble box & digipac with 40 pages booklett.

Am Freitag dem 6.Juni werden wir unser einziges Konzert für 2014 in Österreich spielen. Auf der schönen Festung Kufstein beim RITTER - FEST. Der Einlass ist um 16.00Uhr, unser Konzert findet um 21.00Uhr statt, als Support Act werden die Streuner auftreten.
Mit Gauklern, Feuerspuckern und vielen Marktständen wurde das RITTERFEST zu einem der 5 besten Mittelaltermärkte der Saison 2013 gekürt.
Wir freuen uns bereits auf diese Sommernacht voller Musik und in bester Gesellschaft, Eure FAUNE.

FAUN LIVE AT THE RITTERFEST KUFSTEIN 6th JUNE 2014
At friday the 6th june 2014 we will play our only concert in 2014 in Austria at the Ritterfest Kufstein. We will play in the impressive castle of Kufstein at the RITTER FEST. The get in is at 4pm, the STREUNER will play as our support act and our concert will start at 9pm.
With jugglers, fire artists and many booths the RITTER FEST was nominated as one of the best medieval markets of the season 2013.
Therefore we are looking forward to this beautifull celebration in Kufstein, yours FAUN.

The Sommerbordunale is a small festival with workshops, balfolk, sessions and always lots of fun. This year the Swedish hurdygurdy trio (Bruno Andersen, Harald Pettersson und Johannes Geworkian Hellman) is the "main act".
