The 3rd Big Hurdy-Gurdy Workshop Weekend 2014

An intensive workshop weekend for hurdy-gurdy players of all ages and abilities with two incredibly talented and contrasting hurdy-gurdy players who are equally influential on the European folk scene. Hurdy-gurdy maker Claire Dugue will be there to help you get the most out of your instrument with practical advice on maintenance. There will be plenty of time for informal playing sessions too. Arrive Friday afternoon, depart Sunday 5pm.
This runs alongside a bagpipe workshop weekend with Jon Swayne. There will be plenty of opportunties for bagpipers and hurdy-gurdy players to play together in the informal evening sessions.
Full board per person (all meals, accommodation, workshops, concert included)
£200 – single ensuite room; £180 – single non-ensuite room; SAVE MONEY by sharing a room with friends. £180 – sharing an ensuite room; £170 – sharing non- ensuite room.

There are also affordable options for players 16 years old and under (must be accompanied by an adult), day visitors (workshops only), camper vans, non-participants accompanying a participant and children. Phone for details.

Saturday. 8:30am Breakfast. 10-1pm Technique, style and music workshops. 1pm Lunch. 2-5pm Technique, style and music workshops. 6pm Dinner. 8pm Dance/Concert. 10pm. Playing session in the bar
Sunday. 8:30am. Breakfast. 10-1pm Technique, style and music workshops. 1pm Lunch. 2-5pm. Final workshops, tuition and some tunes together. Finishes about 5pm.
